What does Barack Obama mean in regards to his campaign slogan, ';Change you can believe in';?

FIRST..he's talking about a change of the MINDSET of this country. To grasp the idea that a minority can be president is the BIGGEST change and its the first one that has to happen in order for many people to be able to hear the man out. Can you BELIEVE it CAN be? Once you can, then you can hear what he's saying. Till that CHANGE occurs, alot of people filter his words through a racial sieve.

The most significant change beyond that, is a country that can actually reflect the diversity of those who live within its borders and reflect that in the working relationships of the parties that make up our governing body. When we can LISTEN to each other....tremendous change can be achieved. Can we BELIEVE that the cynicism that has permeated the core of our belief in government can be reversed? Can we HEAL this country? Obama believes its possible. Can you believe its him who can bring about that change?

Over the last 20 years...we've had some of the most divided politics in history. The polarization is undeniable. Obama seeks to tear down those walls. On Tim Russert's weekend show, he interviewed some guests who said that not only does Obama have the ability to bring Republicans and Dems sorely split, to a unanimous vote (as he did in the State Senate) but everyone who deals with him comes away saying 'I felt like he really understood me and was listening to my concerns'.

THAT, my friend..is a change from the status quo in DC. Its the opposite of our current administration, and offers a far more hopeful future than another Clinton administration which will only perpetuate the existing divide.What does Barack Obama mean in regards to his campaign slogan, ';Change you can believe in';?
Everybody claims to be the person who will bring change.

Hillary is claiming she will bring change. She wants us to believe that she has the most experience. She has been doing this for 35 years. She represents the old establishment. The 20+ years of Bush/Clinton administrations have given us a heavily divided nation. But Hillary says she will bring CHANGE... ?

Obama also claims to be the candidate for change. He is the counter to Hillary. Thus ';Change you can believe in';.What does Barack Obama mean in regards to his campaign slogan, ';Change you can believe in';?
Evidently he wants to be the next Reagan:

(just like Mitt Romney)

Barack Obama:

';I think Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Clinton did not... He put us on a fundamentally different path... when everyone was sick of the EXCESS of the 60's and 70's, Reagan offered accountability.';

Me:

'; So the 80's weren't THE DECADE of Excess??? ';

Reagan on ';accountability';:

';I wish those AIDS people would just go away.';

Barack Obama has lost his sense of reality here - that's what happens when you try to kiss republican butt for a measly vote.
He needs to cover up the fact that he has no real plans for when becoming President, just running on the premise of undefined ';change,'; and ';together we can.'; Not sure what we can do together, but he says we can do it.
It's one of those meaningless slogans.
He trying to empower us as a nation to believe that we can ';change'; and fix...what the gov't has done over the past years to damage us.

We can鈥檛 rely on a president - any candidate - to change the world for us. It鈥檚 our future at stake, and it鈥檚 foolish to put that future in the hands of any candidate or President, no matter how good they are. We鈥檙e going to have to create the change we want to see, and we can!

If Obama continues convincing millions more young people that they can indeed create the change they want to see - forget what Obama wants to see - then he could be our most effective president...someone that can move us. He has good ideas plus he empowers us to implement them.
A black man in office ';for a change';.

And that is not racially motivated.
He means all democrats are making the same claim to be different but he's saying that he truly is the one that can make change
He means a change from the same people that have been in washington for the past 20-30+ years. Change of our leaders letting america become so divided. Change on getting the world to respect this country again, and not having to pay our ';allies'; to give us a hand. Those are just a few.
Sounds like a Disney Land marketing line to me.
