I have to do an assignment for government about the cost of attracting more youth voters to the polls. How much would an ad campaign and a tour of major cities w/ guest speakers cost in dollars?Cost of an ad campaign/cross country tour in dollars?
its really kind of hard to answer that unless you understand HOW campaigns are funded. Here's an example of campaign funding. You have 2 major ways of funding a campaign, private and public. Private contributors give around 25% of total campaign costs usually and they want something in return for their contributions. Public can be matched by government funding and other means. that being said, depending on HOW much is contributied from these various funding mechanisms, that tells you about how much their political campaign costs them to travel.





For instance, Obama and Hillary BOTH recieved close to 30 million in contributions early on (recieving much more as time went on) so that dictates how deep their pockets are in the campaign trail. Other runners who did not recieve that much no doubt are going to drop out because they can't afford to campaign any longer.
